HEREFORDSHIRE Motor Club’s single venue car rally at The Royal Welsh Showground at Builth Wells is returning next month after a gap of nine years.
HMC staged a successful single venue event on this site between 1990 and 2004, until a change of Showground Committee policies put a halt on the popular competition.
Now, after negotiations by members Len Evans and Graham Powell, the rally will be back on Saturday, November 2.
This year’s event will offer approximately 28 competitive miles to the entry of 50 crews.
“The RWAS Committee have been very helpful and the format will be emphasised on a fun day’s motorsport,” said Powell.
“Offering a compact event on the Showground utilising both the loose and asphalt surfaces on Stockman’s Hill.
“It will also provide an entertaining day for both competitors and spectators.”
Entries are now available and are limited to 50 crews; more details can be found on the Motor Club’s website, herefordshire motorclub.co.uk.
Marshals will be required for those who want to be closer to the action and prospective volunteers should contact Kevin Morris via the website.
Spectators will be welcome with catering and toilet facilities available throughout the day.
Disabled spectator facilities are available with prior notice.
