FORMER Hereford and County AC members Emma Crooke and Thomas Fellowes collected top-three finishes at the inaugural National Youth Development finals held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
The pair lined up for Birchfield Harriers, who finished fourth of eight teams from across the UK in the finals.
Crooke finished second ‘B’ in the hammer and third ‘A’ in the discus, while Fellowes finished second ‘A’ in the hammer and sixth ‘B’ in the shot to round off a successful year for both athletes.
The pair also represented Herefordshire and Worcestershire at the English School Athletics finals back in July when Crooke finished sixth overall and Fellowes, seventh.
Crooke, who is coached Trevor Marsay in Birmingham, has finished the year ranked ninth overall in the country and first in the Midlands while Fellowes, who is coached in Gloucester by former Olympic Athlete and Commonwealth Champion Lorraine Shaw, is ranked 16th in the country and first in the Midlands.
The pair would like to thank Laine Snook, of the Iron Works gym in Leominster, for all his help this with their strength and conditioning training during the year.
