Luctonians Rugby Club's former captain Chris Jaques fractures leg and ankle in training
LUCTONIANS’ former captain Chris Jaques is awaiting an operation in hospital after suffering an horrific injury in training last night.
The line-out jumper has fractured an ankle in two places and suffered a dislocation. Jaques has also sustained a broken fibula.
The injury occurred in Luctonians’ first ruck of the team run when Jaques was collapsed on.
Luctonians’ president Bryan Markham said: “I am sure I speak for the whole club when I wish Chris a speedy recovery and to see him back at the club in the near future.”
He added: “What makes it more heart-breaking is Chris’ committed involvement in the building of our new stand coupled with his leadership and passion for our rugby club.”
Luctonians travel to rivals Bromsgrove tomorrow (Saturday) for a derby battle in National League Two (North).
