HALL Family taekwondo students have all taken a step closer to their black-belt goal after successfully passing their gradings.

Leanne Corrick achieved the best grading of the day.

Hall family students have also collected a variety of medals and trophies from summer competitions.

Charlie Mitchell, Sol Walsh and Katy Corrick (all just aged four) entered their first competitions, each winning themselves a medal.

The Hall team, led by double world-championship medallist Luke Hall were among more than 3,000 competitors at the World Championships in Coventry, the largest TKD tournament ever held.

Shannon Davies, who had been promoted to second degree black belt, narrowly missed out on a medal and Marcus Ashfield, in his first World Championships at the age of seven, lost out to a medal by just a point.

But Christopher Royles managed to obtain a bronze medal for the team in his event in his first international tournament.

Luke Hall had a particularly difficult category with more than 100 competitors and got knocked out of the tournament before the final stage by the current World Champion.

Hall family have regular sessions available to anyone from the age of four upwards, further details can be found on halltkd.com or by emailing Luke and Sarah Hall on info@halltkd.co.uk
