HEREFORD United have signed Stockport County defender Joe Connor on a month long loan deal.

The 26-year-old featured 24 times for County under Jim Gannon during the first half of the season, and was made club captain.

But, he fell out of favour since the arrival of current County boss Darije Kalezić towards the end of January and has yet to feature under his new manager.

Connor follows a family readition in donning Stockport's colours.

His grandfather Jack Connor is in the Hatters’ hall of fame as the club’s all-time record scorer, scoring 140 goals, including 13 hat-tricks, from 1951-55, while his father Jack also played for the Edgeley Park outfit in the 1970s.

His uncles Joe Connor and Patrick Whelan have also been on the club’s books.

When he was 18, Connor moved to the United States and played for Lee University in Tennessee before he signed a professional contract with Charlotte Eagles, 

He signed for Stockport on non-contract terms, making his debut against Alfreton Town in December 2011 and helping County keep a clean sheet.

He bagged his first goal in a home win over Barrow a month later and did not have long to wait to get on the score-sheet again, netting in a 2-2 draw away at Braintree Town.

Meanwhile, James Musa has extended his loan spell at Edgar Street by a third and final month.

He has appeared in all ten games that he has been available for since signing on an initial month long loan from Fulham at the beginning of January.

The defender then saw his loan spell extended at the beginning of February, with manager Martin Foyle coming to agreement over a third and final months loan extension.
