BEN Price will be having a few sleepless nights – but it’s nothing to do with the football.

His fiancee, Katie Kinsey, gave birth to their first child just a day before the Blackheath match.

“I was flying because I’ve just had a baby girl and no worries,” said 27-year-old Ben.

“Katie told me to go and play football and come back and see her after the game.”

The couple’s daughter, Phoebe was born at Hereford Hospital on Friday at 9.26am, weighing in at 8lb 10oz.

“I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to play but I think I’ve missed only two training sessions in two years,” said Ben who lives in Ryelands Road.

He helped to set up the opening goal for Terry Williams.

“I knocked it through the lad’s legs and crossed it for Terry at the back post.

“I set up a few other goals but it looked better than what it was. “I didn’t really look for the passes I just knocked the ball over the top because I knew that Sam Pearson and Terry would be there.”

Leominster’s joint-manager Mike Symonds praised his former Pegasus team-mate.

“Ben’s the most reliable person you can have in any side,” said Symonds. “To get to the match showed his character and he put in a great performance.”
