The other Herefordshire sides in the West Midlands League Premier Division did not fare so happily.
Wellington were beaten 3-2 at home by Shifnal while Bromyard suffered a 6-2 home defeat by Wulfrunians.
In Division Two, Ledbury continued their fine goalscoring form by hammering visiting Red Star Alma 9-1.
Bartestree are up to third after a 3-2 home win against Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves with unbeaten Lads Club hot on their heels despite only drawing 2-2 at home with Team Dudley. Luctonians were beaten 39-15 at Bromsgrove in their National Two North local derby.
But Hereford, despite conceding points for the first time in three games, gained their fourth straight victory by beating Stratford-upon-Avon 21-3.
Ledbury slipped back into the bottom two in Midlands Three West (South) after a 19-3 reverse at Pinley.
But Bromyard raised hopes of survival in Midlands Four West (North) after a 14-8 home win against Harborne.
Ross also gained a welcome success, 12-3 against Cotham Park at Greytree in Gloucester 2.
Leominster bolstered their promotion hopes in Conference North of the Davis Wood Hockey League with a 2-1 win at Firebrands but Hereford were beaten 9-6 at home by City of Bath.
Hereford’s ladies were also beaten, 2-1 at home by Gloucester City.
