Rugby Welsh 35 pts Greyhound 37 pts.

DAVE Bromage’s last-kick-of-the-match conversion sealed an important win for Greyhound and keeps the city side at the head of Midlands Five West (South).

But an entirely different outcome seemed likely 10 minutes from time with the visitors trailing 35-16.

The depleted Greyhound side fell behind in the early stages to a penalty that was cancelled out by a successful kick from Bromage who then repeated the trick to put the visitors in front.

An Alex Martin try, in between two for the home side, ensure a half-time score of 13-11.

A try and a conversion for the hosts at the start of the second period increased their advantage but pacy Rob Chance scored a try to keep Greyhound in touch.

At this point, however, Rugby Welsh looked like running away with the game with a burst of three unconverted tries.

With just 10 minutes remaining a try and a conversion by Bromage restored the Herefordshire side’s hopes.

Bromage converted again after setting up a further try for Chance and the pair combined again right at the end for Chance to complete his hat-trick of scores.

Bromage’s kick took his personal tally for the afternoon to 17 and completed an unlikely victory.
