WITH the rain continuing to pour in this country, some of Herefordshire’s Minor Counties squad have taken off to the other side of the world to keep themselves in trim.

Brad Wadlan and Callum Stewart have both returned to Victoria to Buln Buln where they were part of last season’s Warragul and District Cricket Association Division One title-winning side.

Ben Stebbings is playing for Hallora and Nitesh Patel with Jindvick in the same competition.

A little further up-country in New South Wales, Charlie Griffiths is playing for Lennox Head Pirates in Far North Coast Cricket Council – TJ Hooker League.

Over in Western Australia, Tom Austwick and Andrew Kimberlin are playing for Great Boulder in the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association Grade ‘A’ competition.

And Charlie Walker is playing for Doubleview Carine and Nick Powell for Swan Valley in the West Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association.

Some former Herefordshire players have also been seeking the sun on the other side of the world.

Tom Glover is playing in Victoria for Strathmerton in the Murray Valley Cricket Association.

While in New Zealand, Peter Trego, who has just signed a new three-year deal for Somerset, is playing for Central District Stags and Chris Woakes was turning out for Wellington Firebirds before being called up into the England one-day squad.
