HEREFORD suffered a 5-1 home defeat against Firebrands 2nd in the Davis Wood Men’s League Conference North.

The city side were outplayed at Hereford Leisure Centre and are third-from-bottom in the division.

Unbeaten Leominster gave Swansea University a lesson, thrashing the students 4-1 to knock them off the top of the table.

Josh Watkins bagged a hat-trick for the third-placed hosts and Nick Duggan converted a penalty-flick after Dave Harvey had been fouled.

Table-topping Hereford 2nd maintained their unbeaten run in The Marches One with a 4-1 victory against experienced Cirencester 2nd.

Max Porter bagged a brace and inform Duncan Tindle also scored for Hereford after Rich Lawson fired the city side into a 1-0 interval lead.

Mark Griffiths was in outstanding form for Hereford and gave a man-ofthe- match display. Ross-on-Wye are second in De Cymru and The Marches Two despite a 4-2 defeat at third-placed Gloucester City 2nd.

Adrian Williams and Phil Evans scored for Ross, while goalkeeper George Goldsmith was the man-ofthe- match after making a series of superb saves.

George Lawson grabbed his maiden senior goal in Hereford 3rd’s 4-1 home win over Cirencester 4th, also in The Marches Two.

Matt Thomas, Dan Volpe and Alex Miller also scored in Hereford’s comfortable success. Meanwhile, Jenny Layton-Mills notched a brace in Kington Ladies’ 3-1 win at Risca in the South Wales Women’s League Division One. Ruth Smith also found the target for Kington and Emma Turner was in superb form.

Braces from Rita Tompkins and Jess Goodwin led Presteigne to a 5-3 triumph at Milford Haven in Division Two.

Presteigne were rocked by a firstminute goal but hit back to open up a 5-1 advantage before the interval.

Jody Owen-Evans scored Presteigne’s other goal.
