FORMER Ewyas Harold boss Dave Priday has returned to football at Wellington – and would have been pleased with his new club’s character.

Wellington twice came from behind in Saturday’s six-goal thriller and the returning Dale Withers rescued a point for the hosts. Priday led Harold to the HFA County Challenge Cup final last season and Wellington chairman Phil Smith said it was good to have an experienced head on board.

“Dave Priday is giving us a hand and he came out to see us on Saturday,”

said Smith. “We are very grateful to Dave and thank him for coming on board and advising us.

“Hopefully, Dave will eventually have a settled role with us. But we are still looking for a manager.”

Saul Thomas put Wellington ahead with a fine chip in last Saturday’s West Midlands League Premier Division clash.

However, lowly Wolves bit back to open up a 2-1 advantage before Ben Fischer levelled with a free-kick from outside the box.

Wellington, who are 14th in the table, fell behind again until Withers hit the hosts’ second equaliser.

Smith said: “We played OK but I though it was a case of us dropping two points at home. We have to win our home games in this season.“ Wellington travel to Shawbury United this Saturday.

Smith added: “We are playing well and, with players coming back, we’re getting stronger and I am sure the results will come. Paul Jones has returned to us but he got injured in a Sunday League match and we are struggling with that one at the moment.
