Hereford Lads Club moving up West Midlands League Division Two after Malvern success

Lads Club 6 Malvern Town Res 3.

LADS Club moved up to ninth place after a convincing display against West Midlands League Division Two’s basement side.

The Hereford club, who are the section’s only unbeaten side, have games in hand over all of the teams above them and could go to the top of the table if they win them all. Arron Turner fired home from Danny Moon’s pass after just five minutes.

But, with Malvern using the windy conditions to their advantage, goals from Jay Harding and Omar Elmouhey in quick succession gave the visitors the lead.

Mike Olive levelled after a Turner shot had been saved and Kiea Cowley restored the lead from a Jordan Burke pass.

But Malvern equalised again when Elmouhey followed up to score after Steve Bell had pushed out his penalty kick.

Turner, however, fired Lads Club ahead again before the break with a good finish.

Lads Club dominated after the break as the wind died down and Steve Dixon extended the lead five minutes into the half after good work by Olive.

And Cowley added a sixth from a Moon pass before Harding was sent off for a foul on debutant Matt Morris.

l Four goals from solo striker Terry Williams shot Leominster Town to their first win of the season in style, beating St Martins 4-1.

The win hauls Town off the bottom of West Midlands League Division One.

l Sinkums have gone to the top of the Herefordshire League Premier Division after a 2-1 victory over Westfields Reserves.

The newly-promoted side’s goals came via Scott Turner and Matty Roberts.
