Sascha and Nyree Kindred up for Sports Personality award with Josie Pearson

THREE of the county’s Paralympic stars have been shortlisted for Herefordshire and Worcestershire’s Sports Personality of the Year award.

People can register online votes for athlete Josie Pearson and swimmers Sascha and Nyree Kindred at morethansportawards.com by next Monday.

The Herefordshire trio are vying for the honour with Bromsgrove’s Jess Varnish and Worcester’s Mel Clarke.

The winner will be presented with the award at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways stadium on Wednesday, November 14.

Other awards involving Herefordshire sporting hopefuls are being decided by a panel of judges.

Herefordshire duo Brad Lewis (gymnast) and Rhys Park (triathlete) have been nominated in the junior male sports person section.

Sascha and Nyree’s coach Emma Patrick, from Marlbrook, has been shortlisted in the coach-of-the- year category.

And Hereford Lads Club starlet Amy Wright has been nominated in the young volunteer section.
