A week in Normandy

BROMYARD language students gave-up their half-term holidays for extra lessons in French.

More than 20 students from Queen Elizabeth Humanities College enjoyed a four-day trip to Normandy last week.

Students visited the Bayeux Tapestry, the Memorial Museum in Caen, and the American War Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer.

A biscuit-making factory also proved popular - but a first-hand experience of speaking French was more important.

“I was impressed how our students adapted to the different environment,” said Isabele Dunn, Head of Foreign Languages at QEHC.

*Meanwhile, two QEHC lunch-ladies swopped their aprons for running shoes last weekend to raise money for charity.

Canteen manageress, Lynne Gwynne, and assistant, Lynne Skyrme, expect to raise more than £200 after completing the Race for Life in Worcester.
