Fownhope

THE 22,000 oak shingles of the spire of the church of St Mary commanded the attention of artist Peter Manders as they glistened under the rays of the evening sun. Fownhope lies five-and-a-half miles south west of Hereford on the old Ross road between the meandering River Wye to the west and the Woolhope Dome to the east.
