Herefordshire's Shared Services Partnership Training Centre achieves national award
8:00am Tuesday 9th August 2011 in One Hundred
HEREFORDSHIRE’S Shared Services Partnership Training Centre has achieved national Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) Beacon Status as a high-performing provider.
The SSPTC (formerly the Primary Care Trust Training Centre) has been awarded coveted Beacon Status by the national LSIS in recognition of its promotion and pursuit of excellence.
LSIS awards Beacon Status by invitation only to learning providers who deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
The award provides a unique platform for recipients to share their expertise and contribute to raising quality standards generally across the sector.
A total of 17 organisations, including further education colleges, work-based learning and adult education providers, became LSIS Beacons at a ceremony held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.
LSIS chief executive Rob Wye presented certificates to the Award recipients.
He said: “At a time when our sector needs to embrace fresh thinking and new approaches, the role of the Beacons is more important than ever because they set the quality bar so high.
“Here at LSIS, we value their input and vision enormously as we work together to help drive up standards and enhance the performance of the entire sector.”
The Learning and Skills Improvement Service is a sector- owned and sector-led body driving the development of excellent and sustainable provision in learning and teaching through further education and skills providers.
It builds the sector’s own capacity to design, commission and deliver improvement and strategic change.
