THE second smallest school set to shut under Herefordshire Council's draft school closure programme is making a big effort to stay open.
Pupils at high-performing Kings Caple primary have even written their own protest song over the closures. Hereford MP Paul Keetch will get to hear it when he visits the school by invitation on Monday (Jan 21).
Villagers met last night (Friday) to form an action group to save their school. The invitation to Mr Keetch was one of the group's first moves.
Group member John Gartside said that parents and pupils alike would not standby and see the school shut "without reason or argument."
