Lauren and John Woolley express gratitude to favour teacher

READING an article in your paper recently brought back a flood of memories for my husband and myself and we wanted to express gratitude and sadness at the news of teachers retiring from Bishop’s school.

My husband and I both left Bishops long ago and we were both at one point taught by Mr Archer.

We felt sad at the news and wanted him and everyone else to know that Bishop’s school has lost an outstanding teacher.

Mr Archer was a fun and enthusiastic teacher with a sense of humour. If there were more teachers of his quality we would all be better off.

I hoped that one day he would teach my children. It’s so funny to think of Bishops without him even though, we know full well, he couldn’t be there forever.

Mr Archer, thank you so much for your guidance and support as I made a journey through teenage life to adulthood. My husband and I are so very grateful to you.

LAUREN AND JOHN WOOLLEY,

Coldstone Cross, Kingstone.
