THE weather may have been hot but people in Worcester have been having fun finding ways to cool off.

Our facebook readers shared these pictures of their favourite ways to keep cool as temperatures rocketed over the past few days.

Some, like Zoe Gruszeczka, opted for a dip in the paddling pool combined with a refreshing ice cream, while little Logan Lamb decided to demolish a chocolate ice cream, ending up in a bit of a sticky mess.

Findley Munn went for the most direct approach to cooling down, choosing to tip a bucket of water over his head, while best friends Phoebe Munn and Isabelle Sparkes ran through sprinklers.

Paddling pools have been dusted off in back gardens throughout the city with some, like three-year-old Corey Clark adding bubbles for extra fun while Sienna Short had so many toys in hers no-one else could fit in.

Paul, Beth and Olivia Probert showed that keeping cool is fun for all the family by jumping in together while James Cartwright celebrated the end of a hard day's work with a dunk in his miniature pool.

The Splashpad in Gheluvelt Park and the fountains at South Quay were also put to good use.

However, spare a thought for Isabelle Dawe, and dozens of other schoolchildren, who still had to go to lessons despite the heat and for Duncan Fulker, who messaged to say he'd had to spend his day out of the sun, emptying the loft in preparation for a move.

Today has been another scorcher, with temperatures pushing 30C in the city, and tomorrow is set to be even hotter, with highs of 31C forecast in Worcester.

Experts say Britain could be in the midst of the longest spell of hot June weather for more than 20 years.

However, a surge in 999 calls also showed that the warm weather isn't always fun with advice for people to drink plenty of water and stay in the shade where possible.
