PEOPLE can get involved with supporting the fire service in Tenbury and the Teme Valley by becoming volunteers.

It is a chance to do something different and is open to people aged 18 or over who have some spare time.

The role involves supporting a range of exciting opportunities including key education campaigns aimed at making young people safer whilst supporting community events and Fire Station Open Day, and visiting people in the community to help raise awareness of reducing the risk of fire within the home.

Volunteers also play a key part in supporting operational training, often acting as ‘casualties’ in training scenarios, helping to ensure we are delivering the best all round service to the communities of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

“Becoming a Community Volunteer is an enjoyable, worthwhile experience; it can enhance your CV and you can learn new skills,” said Senior Community Risk Technician Caroline Webster.

Fire fighters in Tenbury are employed on a retained basis.
