DRINKERS in Tenbury and the Teme Valley have reason to raise a glass to Chris Dell.

Chris Dell is the new chairman of Malvern Hills District Council's Licensing and Appeals Committee.

He lives in Knighton-on-Teme and was first elected as the District Councillor for Lindridge ward, which covers the parishes of Knighton on Teme, Bayton, Lindridge, Mamble and Stockton on-Teme, at a by-election in 2014.

Previously he had been a parish councillor in Knighton-on-Teme for nine years.

“I've previously been chairman of the standards committee and I've also been chairman of one of the licensing sub-committees, but this is the first time I have been elected as chairman of the licensing and appeals committee,” said Chris Dell.

The role of the licensing and appeals committee is to periodically review and make recommendations to executive committee on licensing policy and to consider appeals and objections in respect of TAXI DRIVERS AND VEHICLE LICENSING, HOMELESSNESS, AND CHIEF OFFICER DISCIPLINARY AND GRIEVANCE Procedures.
