A REDDITCH company has donated £750 to a charity for youth homelessness.
During the opening of new premises Unilite handed over a cheque to Barrie Hodge, the head of fundraising at St Basils.
The charity works with young homeless people between the age of 16 and 25, with the aim of both preventing and supporting homelessness.
To do this they provide support with accommodation, as well as skills and training for future employment, all with the aim of ‘breaking the cycle of homelessness.’
The donation will go toward sponsoring the dinner at the charities sleep-out challenge; designed to raise awareness of the hardship endured by homeless people in the Midlands.
The LED lighting manufacturer has made a trailblazing start to 2018 with the opening of its new headquarters on Winyates Way.
The facility, named The LAB, was officially opened by Jim Troughton, first team coach of Warwickshire Cricket Club, who cut a ceremonial ribbon and gave a brief speech.
A spokesman from Unilite said: "This purpose-built facility will help to support future growth for Unilite and provide jobs for an ever-increasing workforce."
