A PARADE is being held in Redditch to show appreciation to the soldiers and their families who work tirelessly for the country.
The Armed Forces Day parade will start at the Town Hall on Saturday at 10.25am and will work its way to the war memorial outside St Stephen’s Church.
A short service will be held there before the armed forces, their families, dignitaries and guests return to Redditch Town Hall.
Yesterday the council held a ceremony as part of ‘Fly The Flag’ for Armed Forces Day, which was led by the mayor Councillor Jenny Wheeler.
Redditch Borough Council Leader Bill Hartnett said: “As a council we are so proud and humbled by the work of our armed forces.
"The parade is a chance for our residents to be a part of the parade and the service and to show their appreciation too.”
