LONGLEY Green in Suckley is dazzling once again -thanks to the lights that embellish Suckley Post Office.

More than 10,000 twinkling bulbs are strung up over the popular post office, doubling last years 5,000 figure.

Postmaster Julian Wilkins said: "Last Christmas, Suckley Post Office lit up the local community with an awesome display of 5,000 Christmas lights, and a pledge to go even bigger and brighter this Christmas.

"After appearing on the front page of the Malvern Gazette last year with our Christmas lights, I knew we had to pull out all the stops this year.

"We have now actually achieved over 10,000 lights, although it took a lot of hard work to put them all up, we had great local support for the official switch-on, and the children were so excited to see them."

This year, for the first time Suckley Post Office is sponsoring Suckley Church's bid to raise money to bring running water to the church.

Mr Wilkins added: "We had such great feedback last year that we felt sure the local community would donate their loose change to support such a good cause. We are so pleased and appreciative of everyone's donations and their comments about how amazing the lights look this year."

People are invited to visit the lights every evening from 4pm.

The official light switch-on event was held on Friday, November 24.
