TRADERS in Barnards Green will be turning back the clock to Victorian days for a Local History Fun Day next Saturday, July 1.

Running from 10am to 1pm, the event will feature Punch and Judy Shows, paper crafts and games, music hall entertainment and a pop-up costume booth so people can dress up and have their photo taken in Victorian style.

The Barnards Green Local History Group has this last week presented each business in Barnards Green with a poster that details the history and interesting facts about each business.

These are already creating a lot of interest in the local area and people are invited to come along on the day and have a brief tour by the history group which will connect them with its past and how the area has developed over time.

The traders are raising funds to buy a defibrillator to be sited in the centre of Barnards Green.

'It is connecting with our past, but also taking care of our current local residents who may need to use a defibrillator to help someone," said Jane Knowles, chair of the traders' association.

"We would also like to thank the Malvern Theatres costume hire, who have been wonderfully helpful and supportive of the event and its fund-raising aim."
