ORGANISERS of Bewdley Carnival have begun arranging their next event after celebrating the success of last year’s bash.
Bewdley Carnival committee held a thank you evening for all the people that helped out to ensure the 2017 event ran smoothly.
Princesses Elsie Claydon and Dallas Dior Loveridge, both aged seven and from Bewdley Primary School, and St Anne’s Primary pupils Maya Smith and Xjaela Mai Braithwaite – both aged six – led the parade last year.
They were presented with a framed photograph of themselves in their dresses.
Bewdley Mayor Anna Coleman, consort Roger Coleman, Deputy Mayor Linda Candlin and Councillor Phillip Edmundson also attended while Irish dancing was performed by Megan Ince.
A spokesman for the committee said: “The day was a great success and was enjoyed by many people both local and tourists to the area.
“We would like to thank the Mug House, in Severn Side North, for sponsoring the princesses’ dresses.
“The committee are now arranging this year’s Carnival which will be held on June 9.
“Anybody requiring any information about the day or volunteering to help can ring on 01299 401842.”
