RESIDENTS in Wyre Forest will have their bins emptied before Christmas after collections were hampered by this week's snow.

Wyre Forest District Council had to call off the bin wagons today (Wednesday, December 13) and yesterday due to the poor weather conditions.

Bosses originally said collections would be undertaken on Wednesday, December 27 but have revised the timetable to schedule two rounds next week.

Those who should have had their bins collected on Tuesday (December 12) will now have them emptied on Monday, December 18.

And those who normally would have had their waste collected yesterday (Wednesday, December 13) will now have their bins emptied on anyday from Thursday (December 14) - with all the routes expected to be completed by Friday, December 22.

Residents are asked to leave their green bins out until they have been emptied.

A council spokesman said extra recycling will also be taken if it is left in untied bags.

Free additional bin bags can be collected from Wyre Forest House, Kidderminster Town Hall, Bewdley Museum and Stourport Civic Hall.
