A TREE surgeon, who is thought to have witnessed a crash in Shenstone on Wednesday, is wanted by police.

Emergency services crews were called to reports of a two car crash on the A450, Worcester Road - between Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel and the Granary Hotel and Restaurant - at around 11.30am.

A silver Ford Fiesta and a blue Peugeot 207 were involved in the collision 10 minutes earlier.

Firefighters removed the roof of one of the vehicles to free the occupant of one the cars.

Road closures were in place until 4.30pm.

The driver of the Fiesta, a woman in her forties, was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham with 'serious injuries'.

She remains in hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver and passenger of the Peugeot, two women in their forties and fifties, were also taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

Investigating officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward, including a man in a tree surgeon's van - thought to be a white Transit.
