THIRSTY drinkers will be treated to beers and ciders at this year's Bewdley Beer Festival.

The four-day event, which celebrates its 19th anniversary this year, kicks off at St George's Hall tomorrow (Thursday, August 24), and will feature ales from across the country and some local ones too.

A spokesman for the festival said: "It all began with two and a half tonnes of beer, a fifty-six-foot long bar, one tonne of scaffolding, and fifty-one different beers from thirty-seven different breweries.

"The first ever Bewdley Beer Festival was born.

"Now, over 1500 people come together to experience hundreds of the best beers the UK has to offer over an action-packed four-day festival."

Opening times for the event are 6pm until 11pm on Thursday, noon until 11pm on Friday, 11am until 11pm on Saturday, and from noon until the beer runs out or 11pm on Sunday.

Entrance fee is £5 per adult, which is valid for all four days of the festival.
