EIGHT talented young Kidderminster dancers have been chosen to perform in a major theatre production next month.

Chloe Edwards, Isabel Barlow, Alice Barlow, Daisy Gough, Alicia Gilbert, Eva Meehan, Darci Hull and Ella Vaux-Harvey will be taking part in the English Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker Suite and Ballet Études double bill at the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton on September 29 and 30.

They were among 200 hopefuls who took part in rehearsals which took place at the Grand in May.

Darci, who is the youngest of the group aged eight, said: ““I started dancing when I was very little.

“At my old school there were these letters that were handed out about my dance schools and my mum let me try it.

“Since then I have been dancing and dancing and dancing! I am looking forward to all the shows and to see what kind of dancing I will be doing in the ballet.

“I want to be a doctor and if any of my patients are sad I am going to a little dance for them.”

Janet Lewis MBE, director and founder of English Youth Ballet, said: “EYB is all about providing extra performance experience to young dancers. We saw a very pleasing standard at the audition and it was lovely to see lots of enthusiasm.”
