THE Royal consort for this year’s annual Stourport Carnival has been named following a selection process.

Around 30 contestants battled it out for the three key roles of queen, princess and rosebud at an event at Stourport Civic Hall last weekend.

Antonia Alberone-Chamberlain, aged 18, will lead the consort as this year’s queen. The Kidderminster works at The Hive in Worcester.

St Wulstans Roman Catholic Primary School pupil Emily Edwards, who is 10, was named as princess while five-year-old Roxie Jordan – who goes to Burlish Park Primary – will be this year’s rosebud.

The trio impressed the judges who were last year’s Queen Jodie Davis, Mayor Vi Higgs and her consort Andy Higgs and Stourport Yacht Club’s commodore and lady Jack and Tina Watkins.

Preparations are well underway for this year’s event on Saturday, September 2.
