PERSHORE College and Evesham College students were among over 250 WCG graduates celebrating their achievements at three ceremonies in Warwick.

The graduates, who have spent the past few years studying, donned their gowns, hoods and mortarboards at the Old Shire Hall before moving with family and friends to the ceremony at the 900 year-old St Mary’s Church.

Following the ceremony, the graduates processed back to the courtyard - led by a trumpet fanfare - for the traditional mortarboard throw and drinks reception.

Guest of honour and keynote speaker at the ceremonies was former MP Chris White, the newly appointed President of WCG and they were presented with their certificates by WCG principal and chief executive, Angela Joyce.

Ms Joyce said: “Graduation is truly a day of celebration for everyone at WCG and we’re incredibly proud to see all of our graduates achieve their goals.

"Our recent destinations survey has shown that 97 percent of last year’s graduates are in employment or undertaking further study, and I’m sure this trend will continue.

“We are very proud of their achievements and wish them the very best for their future.”

Peter Walker who graduated with the Pershore diploma in Garden Design said: “I came to Pershore College after deciding on a career change following 25 years working for BP.

"Now I’ve graduated I’m setting up my own business - Compass Garden Designs - with another Pershore graduate, Louise Bowman-Shaw."
