PEOPLE are being invited to join in an orchid walk.

The free guided walk will take place on Friday (June 23), and will start from Fish Hill Picnic Place in Broadway at 2pm, and is organised by Worcestershire County Council.

The walk will leave from the car park and will take between one and one-and-a-half hours. Please note that there are steep slopes and steps in places.

Fish Hill Picnic Place is made up of limestone grassland and beech woodland and is renowned for its orchids, with six different species being recorded there.

Orchids can be spotted there from May through to August, with species including the Common Spotted Orchid, Twayblades, White Helliborines and Bee Orchids.

Tanya Feasey, assistant countryside sites officer, said: "Fish Hill Picnic Place is one of the best sites for orchids in the county. This is a great opportunity to come and see the orchids and learn more about this fascinating plant."
