FREE courses to help people to cope with anxiety and low mood are being launched across Worcestershire.

The Calming Anxiety and Boosting Mood courses, run by Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust's Healthy Minds Team, aim to teach residents how to combat their mental health problems, including stress.

Each course is made up of six sessions, with the Bromsgrove event starting at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital on Monday, July 16, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Claire Shale, team leader at Worcestershire Health Minds, said: "The courses are suitable for people who are motivated and able to make positive changes towards improving their low mood or anxiety.

"Before you start a course, you will need an initial assessment with one of our therapists to see if this course is right for you.

"These usually take around 30 minutes and are completed over the phone.”

Topics covered during the sessions include worry and stress and anxiety management, assertiveness and relaxation, and understanding low mood.

The course will also be held at Redditch's Smallwood House on Thursday, March 15, from 10am to 12pm.
