SCHOOLCHILDREN in Bromsgrove took part in a European-themed bake-off to raise money to support specialist cancer nurses.
St John's Middle School in Watt Close organised the event, alongside a charity bake sale, raising an impressive £403 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Headteacher Geraint Roberts said: "Mrs Mosseri, head of French at St John’s, organised a bake sale and received a tremendous response from the children.
"There was such a wonderful range of cakes that the children - and I am sure parents - had worked hard to produce.
"We were delighted to raise so much money for such a worthy cause and our thanks go out to all the children and families who committed so much time and effort to baking the cakes."
A cheque is set to be handed over to a Macmillan representative next week.
