A SPATE of anti-social behaviour on Edgewood Road has led a group of concerned Rubery and Rednal residents to call for police action.

More than 130 residents packed into St Stephen’s Church on Tuesday, August 8, to address their concerns with Sergeant Lee Howard of Longbridge Police.

The public are currently being consulted on proposals for a Public Space Protection Order (PDSO) along the road.

Longbridge ward councillor Carole Griffiths said: “There has been anti-social behaviour such as riding bikes up and down the road around traffic.

“Drug dealers hang around the shops and large groups make the customers feel intimidated.”

Residents at the meeting also discussed plans to form a Rubery/Rednal network group to discuss community issues, although plans have yet to be finalised.
