DADS, grandads and uncles turned out in force to schools across Bromsgrove on Friday for their annual Father's Day Breakfasts.

More than 100 male role models visited Catshill First School to enjoy bacon sandwiches, toast and free tea with around 150 students.

A spokesman for the school said: "The queue to come in was right down to the road and we were, once again, amazed by the turn out. This event keeps getting bigger every year and we can't thank everyone who came and everyone who helped enough."

Visitors took part in a Father's Day quiz and many left messages in the hall to share how proud they were of their children.

Head of school Georgia Plant added: "The atmosphere was wonderful and it was great to see the pride the children had in sharing their work with their special person. Thank you very much to the Catshill Co-op who made some donations of food and to The Blakemore Foundation who donated £50 towards the costs as well."

Across town in Priory Road, children at School House Private Day Nursery spent the week preparing their own breakfast to share with their families.

Pupils and parents spent spent the morning on June 16 painting each other's hands to make a special keepsake, eating homemade muffins and playing games.

Nursery manager Steph Grasby said: "We would like to thank all our families for taking the time to share this special event with us. Following on from this the children will be exploring the importance of families and our community."
