THE first ever Bumble Bimble run has been hailed a success after raising thousands of pounds for Bromsgrove's Primrose Hospice.

Hundreds of residents took part in a five or 10 mile route through Bromsgrove's countryside on Sunday, June 11.

The run, which started at the Park Gate Inn pub, raised a total of £1,158 for the hospice.

Event organiser Alex Dentith, who is a director for Champion Security Installations, said: "The first Bumble Bimble was a resounding success.

"We're overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community in supporting this event.

"The feedback from participants has been incredibly positive.

"It's been an absolute pleasure to support the Primrose Hospice."

Fellow event organiser Andrew Hewston and owner of Bumble Hole Foods said: "We'd like to thank the volunteers from the local community.

"Without their support we couldn’t have put on this fantastic event.

"We'd also like to thanks the Park Gate Inn for their beautiful venue, and Asda, Aldi, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Co-op for their donations to support our runners."

Champion Security Installations and Bumble Hole Foods also donated money to sponsor t-shirts.
