A WORCESTER care scheme is inviting people to rock against dementia.

Sanctuary Group's Noble House, on Oakview Way, is encouraging people to come and visit from 2pm to 4.30pm on Friday (March 23) for a reminiscence sing-along in support of World Rocks Against Dementia.

Visitors will be invited to join residents to sing along to a number of rock ‘n’ roll classics.

Scheme services manager Vivienne Hobbs said: “Reminiscence activities can be very effective at helping someone with dementia keep their sense of identity, sharing memories and, of course, just having a good time.

“We’d encourage anyone to come along, whether they have dementia, know people with dementia, are concerned about it or just want to know more – all are welcome.”

World Rocks Against Dementia was established three years ago by the Purple Angel charity and has become an annual global event, with 72 events held in 18 countries.

Voluntary donations from the event will go to the Purple Angel.
