POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a number of vehicles were broken into in the Winyates and Church Hill areas of Redditch.

At least 19 vehicles were damaged, searched and had property - including a sat nav, a dash cam, a computer and other personal items - removed between 10pm on Thursday,  December 7 and 2am on Friday, December 8.

The incidents happened in the following streets in Winyates: Atcham Close, Barrow Close, Blakemere Close, Colts Lane, Edgmond Close, Farlow Close, Fownhope Close, Mordiford Close and Upton Close.

Break-ins were also reported in the Acton Close, Dean Close, Flanders Close, Fullbrook Close and Knowle Close areas of Church Hill.

Two 31-year-old men from Redditch were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle. 

They have both been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The local Safer Neighbourhood Team will be conducting reassurance patrols in the area over the coming days.

Anyone who had their vehicle damage in the area between the times mentioned, or may have witnessed suspicious behaviour is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 831S of 7 December.
