ARTIST Ken Mottram is among those enjoying the warm weather this weekend as temperatures have climbed well above the norm for mid October.

Temperatures have peaked at 18C this afternoon (Sunday), higher than the UK average for October of 12C.

Local artist Mr Mottram made the most of the sunshine on Saturday afternoon, taking to the banks of the River Severn to produce a picture using ink.

He told the Worcester News how he loved the picturesque scenes in the city which inspired his art.

Residents across Worcester stepped outdoors to enjoy the weather, basking in the sunshine in city parks or strolling around the shops.

Among them was 20-year-old Carly Thomas, who headed into the city with friends for drinks at pub beer gardens on Sunday.

She said: "It feels like a summer's day, not autumn. I'm loving it, I hope it's like this all week."
