VOLUNTARY and community groups in Redditch are being invited to bid for up to £500 from Redditch Borough Council

Stronger Communities grants support local community-focused projects, and the third and final round for this year will be open from August 21.

The previous round of the grants funded projects including a Summer playscheme for Batchley, a community crafts programme for older people, representation at the Special Olympics National Summer Games 2017, and trips to the seaside and Warwick Castle among several other activities.

Councillor Bill Hartnett, leader of the council, said: “Our town has a really strong sense of community and this is in no small part due to the work carried out by organisations and voluntary groups who dedicate their time and skills.

“We remain committed to supporting these projects across the borough so if you are a voluntary or community group and you are thinking about doing some kind of one-off community-focused project, I would encourage you to get in touch with our team. They can provide help and guidance on applying for a Stronger Communities grant.”

Applications can be made until 4pm on September 22.
