CIRCUS artists and jugglers will meet the physical skills of martial arts masters during an innovative production.

The Chinese State Circus comes to Evesham next week featuring acrobats, aerial artists and jugglers as well as martial arts masters the Shaolin Warriors.

The new production, called DYNASTY aims to modernise an art form that has wowed audiences for more than 2,000 years.

It prides itself on making low-tech everyday objects into acrobatic equipment.

A spokesman for the circus said: "Breathtaking in its simplicity, “DYNASTY” projects into a contemporary setting an art form that has thrilled audiences for more than 2,000 years where low-tech everyday objects are transformed into hi-tech acrobatic equipment.

"Hurtling porcelain jars, dynamically spinning plates, balancing upon gigantic pyramids of tables and chairs framed by the delicate strands of silk supporting cascading aerialists."

The show takes place in Evesham between Wednesday May 3 and Sunday May 7, at Crown Meadow.
