TWO Malvern businesses joined forces in style for a fundraising evening for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

Francis of Malvern hosted the evening at its Malvern Link furniture store in partnership with the Barnards Green-based Divine hair salon.

The informal style event for local women welcomed 25 guests, many of which came with friends and family. Guests were able to have their hair styled, get insider hair-styling know-how and mingle over a glass of wine in the Francis furniture store.

Lexie Craigie, the fundraising manager at the breast unit, was also on hand to talk about the work of the unit and answer questions about the charity. Guests could also view examples of this season’s interiors trends and get advice from the Francis of Malvern design team, Sarah Henley and Liz MacKenzie.

Shaylene Kitchener of Francis, who organised the event, said: “We wanted to create a relaxed, sociable event for the Divine team to showcase their talents. The atmosphere was full of laughter and fun, and everyone enjoyed themselves.”

Lisa Woods, owner of Divine, said: “Stylists Kim, Charley and I were delighted to create some glamorous curls and cool updos for the ladies who came along. We shared some top tips and answered their questions – it was a lovely occasion, and for Divine to be able to once again support the work of the breast unit was amazing.”

Proceeds from guests’ tickets and the raffle all went to the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, and raised about £150 on the night.
