YOUNG farmers in Bromsgrove will be parading the town’s streets on their tractors this Saturday, as they go pub to pub, raising money for charity.

The event, organised by Bromsgrove Young Farmers Club, is set to involve around 25 tractors, driving through Dodford, Belbroughton, Fairfield and Chaddesley Corbett to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance and St Richard’s Hospice.

The farmers will be meeting for breakfast at Bromsgrove’s East Lodge Farm, before setting off for The Dodford Inn for 11am, followed by the Swan in Fairfield around 12pm.

The group will then be travelling through Belbroughton to The Fox Inn at Chaddesley Corbett for a charity raffle.

Each tractor driver has donated £20 to take part.

Owner of East Lodge Farm Will Mason, 25, said: “We meet every week at the Young Farmer’s Club and hold competitions all year round.

"We’ve raised £2,000 for the two charities since October because they’re the ones most relevant to our occupations really. But this one is a completely new idea.

“We’ll be setting off from East Lodge Farm at 8am at then making rest stops at pubs along the way. It would really be nice for the public to come out and see us at the pubs and make a donation.”

The club is also urging residents to take part in the raffle at The Fox Inn from 3pm.

Bottles of whiskey and two £50 vouchers can be won, as well as two meals for two, donated by the Dodford and Fox inns.
