A LANDROVER Freelander, later found out to be stolen from Bromsgrove, was used in a spate of incidents of criminal damage in Malvern this week.

The car was first spotted 'acting suspiciously' near Wheatly Lane in Upton-upon-Severn on the evening of Tuesday, February 21.

After being disturbed by the occupant of a nearby house, the car made off, driving through a 15ft galvanised gate, causing to damage to it and a post.

Between 10.13pm and 11pm that night, the car was also used to drive through several fields, ploughing through the barbed wire fence of a pheasant coup in a neighbouring field and causing damage to a fence, before eventually coming to a halt nearby.

The car was found with both passenger and driver windows fully open, with the ignition key missing.

The Landrover was displaying false or stolen number plates and was later identified as a vehicle stolen from Bromsgrove on January 31.

The suspect, or suspects, made off on foot and have not been found by police.

Anyone with information on these incidents is urged to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 0757s of February 21.
