A NUMBER of 'unsafe' frozen meat and fish products sold in Home Bargains and Factory Foods have been recalled.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a countrywide warning that the products supplied by MDA Products Ltd may have had their best before or use by dates extended beyond those set by the manufacturer.

The food, mainly frozen chicken and fish, has been repackaged in an unapproved premises and may potentially be 'unsafe'.

They are also the subject of a number of labelling and traceability contraventions.

Anyone who has bought then frozen food has been warned not to eat them.

The products have been sold at Home Bargains, Factory Foods and Frozen Value Ltd trading as Fultons Foods and Jack Fultons.

However, it is possible that a number of the products may have been sold through other distribution channels alongside the retail chains mentioned.

Some of the products known to be affected are:

* 4 Cod Fillets wrapped in crunchy golden breadcrumbs, 480g

* Lytham Fish Co. Basa Fillets, 800g

* Lytham Fish Co. 100% White Fish Fillet Burgers, 4 pack, 460g

* Tasty Chicken Co. Chicken Fillets in Tomato and Herb Marinade 400g

* Alaskan Pollock Fillets, wrapped in crunchy golden breadcrumbs, 500g

* Lytham Fish Co. 16 Seafood Sticks, 200g

* 3 Chicken and Spinach Escalopes

* Breaded Hake Goujons, 500g

* Cod Bites, 500g

* Cod Fillets 500g

* Panga White Fish Fillets, 1kg
