FIREFIGHTERS have confirmed a fire that broke out at Leasowes School this afternoon (Wednesday) is now out.

The blaze, which is believed to have been sparked accidentally, broke out just before 4pm at the Kent Road school.

West Midlands Fire Service sent two crews from Haden Cross Fire Station to the incident and their work at the scene was reportedly done by 4.48pm.

The fire is believed to have affected the sports hall roof but the school is expected to be open as usual tomorrow (Thursday).
