A DUDLEY schoolgirl has had a postbox decorated in her honour after she won Royal Mail’s Christmas stamp competition.

People passing the box in Dudley Street will see that it has been covered with Arwen Wilson’s picture of a snow family, which features on festive second class stamps.

Arwen, a pupil at St Chad’s Catholic Primary School, said: "I am very excited that my local postbox is being covered with my stamp, as I will see it every day on my way to school and people will know that it is my design."

The nine-year-old's winning picture was one of two chosen from more than 200,000 entries received from youngsters across the UK in response to the question ‘What does the Christmas season mean to you?’

It was picked by Prince Charles and approved by the Queen.

Arwen was recently presented with a framed copy of her stamp by Prince Charles when she visited Clarence House, his official residence in London.

She also won £1,000 in vouchers and £1,000 for her school.
