A NETHERTON school is preparing to host its first Christmas fayre.

A range of festive treats will be on offer at Hillcrest School and Community College on Friday, December 8.

There will be stalls selling stocking fillers, books and cosmetics, plus plenty of homemade crafts, cakes and fudge.

Hot turkey cobs will also be served up.

Youngsters will be able to meet Santa and his elves, who have a grotto set up at the event, which will run from 3.30pm until 5.30pm.

Stalls, which cost £5, are still available and anyone interested should call Paulette Worsey on 01384 814998.

The stall fee will be donated to the school's enrichment fund, along with cash raised from visits to Santa's grotto, tombolas and activities organised by pupils.
